The design concept of the series Compact Players was for affordable, compact office viewers to be used by producers, journalists and production staff. The result is three models that are ideal for personal, desktop use. At the same time, they have all the features required for viewing, logging and source feeding to servers or nonlinear editing systems. All J series Compact Players can playback Betacam SX™, Betacam SP™ and Betacam™ tapes.
In addition to this ability to playback analog Betacam formats, the J-2
Compact Player can playback MPEG IMX™ tapes while the J-3 model adds both MPEG
IMX and Digital Betacam™ tape playback. All models have a Jog/Shuttle dial,
525/625 versatility, simple remote control capability via RS-422A and audio
meters - all packed into their compact housings. They can even handle L-size
cassettes. T
