The IQBAAI inserts two analog stereo audio pairs, or four mono channels, into an SDI (270 MBit) video stream. Each audio input is sampled at 48 kHz synchronous to video with 24-bit ADCs, the 20 MSBs being embedded. The audio input may be set to terminate at 600 Ohms or >10k Ohms and is factory set to accept +24 dBu input for full scale. Insertion may be set to any group independently for each stereo pair. Existing embedded audio groups may be renamed or tagged for deletion. If there is insufficient ancillary data space remaining then existing data may be removed.
Insertion is fully compliant with SMPTE 291M and SMPTE 272M-A. The minimum standard implementation of the AES control channel is supported. Four IQBAAI cards may be connected in series to insert all 16 audio channels. The SDI input is equalized to >200 m of cable and two SDI outputs are provided. Full EDH monitoring and re-insertion is included. All audio connections are via a 25 way D connector
